What this is, and how to use it.

Soren Periodic Table is a free bilingual companion for studying the periodic table — built for NCTB chemistry students in Bangladesh, useful for anyone learning the elements.

Finding an element

The search box in the header (keyboard shortcut Ctrl/⌘ + K) understands four things: the English name ("iron"), the symbol ("Fe"), the Bangla name ("লোহা") and the atomic number ("26"). On the home table you can also filter by category, phase or block with the chips above the grid, and every tile opens a quick preview before you commit to the full page.

Reading an element page

Each element page is ordered the way a student reads: identity first (who is this element), then electron structure (why it behaves this way), then the study notes — characteristics, uses, history — and finally six exam-style questions, each opening into a complete model answer in English and Bangla. Two quiet helpers sit at the top: a reading mode that removes everything except the notes, and a font-size control (S/M/L) that remembers your choice.

The tools

Trends charts how radius, ionisation energy and electronegativity change across the table — tap any point for the value. Compare puts two (or three) elements side by side with visual bars. Quiz draws fresh questions partly from the element notes themselves; Challenge races you against 60 seconds. Progress (which elements you have explored) is tracked on your device and, if you sign in, synced to your account.

Bangla and English, equally

Every page exists fully in both languages — not a machine translation, and not English-first with a Bangla afterthought. The same 118 elements carry complete notes in each. Bangla pages live under their own addresses (/bn/…), so a Bangla page can be shared, bookmarked or indexed exactly as an English one can.

Frequently asked

Questions and honest answers

1Is this free?

Yes — completely. Every element page, guide, tool, quiz and both languages are free, with no account needed. Soren Periodic Table is part of Soren Chat, a free study companion for NCTB students.

2Does this match my NCTB textbook?

Yes. The content is organised around the NCTB Class 9–10 chemistry curriculum — the periodic table chapter in particular: element facts, electron configurations, group/period structure and the taught trends. See our NCTB chapter guide for how the site maps to the textbook.

3Can I use this offline?

Not yet, and we would rather say so plainly than leave it ambiguous: the site needs an internet connection the first time you open a page. Pages you have already visited may load from the browser cache, but this is not a true offline mode. A download-for-later/offline option is on our roadmap.

4What does signing in unlock?

Signing in is completely optional. It does exactly one thing: syncs your progress (elements explored, quiz best score, quiz streak) to your Soren account, so switching phones or clearing the browser does not lose it. The full tool — every page, every language, every quiz — works without an account.

5Do you collect my data?

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate-only analytics (page views, language split, referral source). Nothing that identifies you personally is collected — no names, no accounts, no per-student tracking. If analytics is disabled for a deployment, nothing is collected at all.

6How does the bilingual toggle work?

Tap EN or বাং in the header. The switch is instant — no reload — and the address bar updates too (/bn/… pages are Bangla). Your language choice sticks while you browse, and either version of any page can be shared directly.
