Post-transition metal

The softer metals after the d-block — aluminium, tin, lead, bismuth. They keep metallic conduction but melt lower and bend easier; their oxides can be amphoteric (aluminium oxide behaves as acid and base both — a classic exam favourite). Light, corrosion-tame aluminium is the everyday champion of this family.
